HRW’s Top Books of 2017

Moniek

I’ve done 26 book reviews and there are plenty to chose from! The Wandering Princess by Edward Hanson definitely tops the list for me. Other favourites are In Haste with Aloha and Anna of Saxony: The Scarlet Lady of Orange.

Carol

I’m going to choose Alison Weirs Queens of the Conquest. My favourite time period by one of my favourite authors. Her research is always impeccable and her writing style is so readable. I’d also include the Twilight of Empire by Greg King and Penny Wilson – a reexamination of Mayerling. All time favourites would have to include Katherine by Anya Seton and Marie Antoinette by Antonia Fraser.

Lauralee

Here are some of my favourite books of 2017:
Anne Boleyn: A King’s Obsession by Alison Weir
Queen’s of Conquest by Alison Weir (Alison Weir is my favourite author)
The Last Tudor by Philippa Gregory (Philippa Gregory is also one of my favourite authors)
Twilight Empress: A Novel of Imperial Rome by Faith L. Justice
The Mapmaker’s Daughter by Katherine Nouri Hughes
The Drowning King by Emily Holman
Empress of the East by Leslie Peirce
Catherine of Braganza by Sarah-Beth Watkins

Brittani
I loved the Darling Queen, Dear Old Bones and the collector book of newspapers of Diana from Historic Newspapers.
