Representatives of the Romanov family are hoping to bury the remains of Tsarevich Alexei and Grand Duchess Maria soon.
Prince Rostislav Rotislavovich, a great-great-grandson of Emperor Alexander III, said, “”Together with other relatives, I participated in the last few days in Copenhagen in funeral of the head of the family, Prince Dimitri Romanov, a wonderful man who devoted his thoughts and deeds to Russia, he considered it extremely important to carry out a decent burial of the victims of the Yekaterinburg tragedy.”
The members of the Family Associations “consider it their duty to complete the work begun by the head of the family.” Prince Dimitri Romanov also accompanied the remains of Empress Maria Feodorovna (Princess Dagmar of Denmark) back to Russia after she died and was buried in her place of exile, Denmark.
“Dimitri Romanov hoped that this tragic page of Russian history would be turned over in his lifetime. He did not get to see it, being on earth, but we believe that soon he will see it from the sky.”
